The Heard Museum was founded in 1929 by Dr. Winfield Scott Heard and his wife, Maie. At the time, it was one of the only museums in the United States dedicated to the exhibition and preservation of Native American art and artifacts. The museum quickly gained a reputation for its high-quality exhibitions and collections, and today it’s one of Phoenix’s most popular tourist destinations.

The museum offers a unique glimpse into a world that is often overlooked and is well worth a visit for anyone interested in Native American art or history.
